Director of Operations - Power A Division

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Streamline supply chain by continuously assessing and improving inventory management, procurement processes and procedures, and compressing lead-times through data analysis and cross-departmental strategy and alignment. Make recommendation for improvements, and where adopted assist in mapping and implementation.
  • Report sales versus forecast performance to sales team and work together to improve accuracy of forecasting process
  • Manage inventory and planning teams 
  • Manage inventory requirements to assure in stock levels meet division objectives
  • Coordinate logistics and shipment scheduling with Logistics Manager
  • Exhibit and promote high levels of Spirit of Service (both internal and external customers) to ensure smooth operations and satisfied customers.
  • Provide directional feedback on performance vs. plan
  • Work with China based team to assure production schedules are met to fulfill inventory requirements
  • Create and hold team accountable to internal and external service SLAs as defined
  • Respond to all internal and external customer and vendor request within 24 hours
  • Refine and develop Inventory Management processes and procedures
  • Provide work direction, leadership, and training to direct reports, and cross-functional team members
  • Responsible to lead and implement special projects as needed 
  • Work with Product Development to assure clean hand-off of new products into production
  • Identify and communicate capacity/throughput requirements during development phase to assure inventory needs are met.

Experience and Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Supply Chain, Operations or Business
  • 10 + Years’ experience in supply chain management for a consumer product, retail based company required
  • VGA (video games accessories) a plus
  • Successful track record of inventory management; seasonal business experience a plus
  • In depth experience supplying a major retailer including scheduling of weekly replenishment orders
  • Asia based sourcing experience
  • Solid understanding of common manufacturing processes and materials used
  • Ability to interface and collaborate with all levels of management and stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and business writing skills, including technical writing skills
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain processes and tools
  • MRP experience required, implementation of a system a plus
  • APICs certification a plus
  • Strong knowledge of factory capabilities, cost structures and manufacturing capacities, including injection molding, PCBA and assembly
